Yoga with Yuko
One-to-One Yoga with Yuko Takamura at YUKOHOLISTIC, Brighton
My name is Yuko and I would love to invite you to embark on a personal journey of yoga with me at YUKOHOLISTIC in Brighton.
Yoga has been a transformative force in my life, shaping my physical and mental well-being in ways I never imagined. My one-to-one yoga sessions are designed to meet you where you are, supporting your individual needs and helping you cultivate a deeper connection with your breath, body, and mind.
In 2017, I embarked on a 500-hour, two-year Vajrasati Yoga Teacher Training. The emphasis on breath-centered awareness became not just a part of my yoga practice but the foundation of my daily life. This approach to yoga has profoundly shaped my understanding of movement, stillness, and the relationship between the two.
I warmly invite you to join me for personal yoga lessons, small group sessions, and yoga workshops... and I am always here to answer any questions you may have.

Why Clients Love YUKOHOLISTIC in Brighton

My Journey to Vajrasati Yoga
I attended my first yoga class in 1999, and it felt as if I had just emerged from a refreshing swim in the sea. The mental cobwebs were blown away, leaving me with an overwhelming sense of clarity and joy. At first, my focus was entirely on asana - the physical postures. I pushed myself to achieve the 'perfect' poses, believing that flexibility and strength determined my ability as a yogi. This mindset led me to overextend myself, resulting in injuries and frustration.
Everything changed when I moved to Brighton and discovered Vajrasati Yoga. This introduced me to a new way of experiencing yoga - one that was about acceptance, awareness, and surrendering to the natural rhythm of the breath. Vajrasati Yoga, rooted in ancient texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, teaches traditional practices including āsana (posture), dhyāna (meditation), prāṇāyāma (breath liberation), mudrā (hand seal), and mantra (chanting). It approaches yoga as a process of deep absorption, guiding practitioners toward a profound awakening to the undivided wholeness of existence.
Meditation and breath release (pranayama) are central to this journey, with asana serving as a gateway to a more profound awareness of the present moment.
One-to-One Yoga Sessions in Brighton & Hove
In one-to-one sessions, I guide you in a safe and nurturing way, helping you develop a breath-centred practice at your own pace, while staying true to the essence of yoga. My sessions are tailored to you, whether you are:
- A complete beginner wanting to start practicing.
- Seeking relaxation and stress relief.
- Looking for guidance in pranayama, meditation, or movement with awareness.
- Wanting to practice but feeling worried about injuries or physical limitations.
By tuning in to the present moment and truly listening to your body, we cultivate a practice that feels natural and nourishing - rather than striving for an external ideal of yoga.

Small Group Yoga Lessons & Workshops
In addition to private sessions, I also offer small group lessons, providing a supportive space for shared learning and deeper exploration. My workshops focus on Vajrasati Yoga principles, pranayama, meditation, and mindful movement, helping you enrich your understanding of yoga beyond the mat.

Let’s breathe together, move together, and discover the profound benefits of yoga as we reconnect with our true selves. I look forward to practising with you.
